I'm currently building the European AI research lab BottleCap AI with Tomas Mikolov, the researcher behind word2vec and a pioneer of modern natural language processing. We build efficiency-first LLMs: smaller, faster and more cost-efficient models without losing accuracy. We're focusing on brand-new algorithms that lead to new architectures with the ambition to challenge transformers. Beyond that we invent new AI apps that tackle problems like potential biases inside LLMs (AI Scan).
Outside BottleCap, I host Fantastic Future, a podcast about technology and the future. In 2022 I founded Beck Adventures Group to invest in projects that positively impact the future, with angel checks in technology, AI, and robotics. I also co-founded CANS because I couldn't find an unsweetened drink near me that I actually enjoy. I don't run it day to day, but I'm still one of its most loyal drinkers.
Previously I co-founded Beat Games, the studio behind Beat Saber, the VR rhythm game that defined its category. It became one of the best-selling VR games (10M+ copies) and won Best VR/AR Game at The Game Awards in 2019. Meta acquired Beat Games that same year. After the acquisition I led the Beat Games studio at Meta until 2023.
Before Beat Saber I composed cinematic music for games and film: StarCraft II: Legacy of the Void (G.A.N.G. Award, Best Cinematic / Cutscene Audio, as part of the team), Overwatch shorts, Battlefield, Heroes of the Storm, and spots for Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Terminator Genisys.
